The Ministry of Corrections of Georgia presented executed reforms of the Georgian Prison System to the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan

The Delegation of the Ministry of Corrections, led by Deputy Minister Zviad Mikhanashvili, participates in the 11th annual European Conference of the CEP (European Probation Confederation) in Croatia, within the frameworks of the project of Georgia for Penitentiary and Probation Systems.

The special space was organized for long-term visits at N8 Penitentiary Facility of the Ministry of Corrections. Four hotel rooms were arranged in the one-floored building.

Reforms executed by the Ministry of Corrections of Georgia were assessed as remarkable in Denmark. The subject above was mentioned at the Committee of Minister of the Council of Europe in Copenhagen. The meeting was held with the participation and support of representatives of the member states of the Council of Europe, European Committee for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment Committee (CPT), Convention against Torture Initiative (CTI), and Danish Institute Against Torture (DIGNITY) in the capital city of Denmark.

Probationers of the National Probation Agency under the governance of the Ministry of Corrections joined the celebration of the Muslim holiday “Novruz Bayram” on March 21st in Marneuli.

The Report “Good Practices in the Prevention and Care of Tuberculosis and Drug-resistant Tuberculosis in Correctional Facilities” published by the regional office of the World Health Organization in Europe named Georgia among the countries with the best practices in prevention and management of tuberculosis.
