The Special Penitentiary Service: Due to the need of the accused N.M., appropriate medical services are provided
The Special Penitentiary Service is responding to the act of protest carried out by the family of the accused NM and to the statement as if the prisoner needs surgery but he is not given adequate care at the penitentiary facility.
The Special Penitentiary Service states that this is a lie and the accused is provided with proper medical service. In addition, during his stay in the penitentiary system, he has been repeatedly transferred to the civilian clinic, where he was consulted by specialist medical practitioners as well as subjected high-tech medical examinations, including his transfer, on February 26, 2021, to
"Acad.G. Chapidze Emergency Cardiology Center ”, where he went through laboratory examinations, electrocardiography, echocardiography, and was consulted by a cardiac surgeon and a pulmonologist.Diagnosis: Other congenital anomalies of aorta; (moderate) aortic insufficiency; cardiac distress. Conclusion: At this stage, no acute cardiological or pulmonary problem is found. Moderate insufficiency of the aortic valve is not an indication for surgical intervention; however, a stress echocardiography is required, for which it is planned to transfer the accused to a specialised civilian clinic today, March 22. Thus, the allegations of his family members are groundless, as by the decision of the specialised civilian clinic, the accused does not need surgery at this stage, and if additional investigations identify such need, it is obvious that the accused will be provided with this service as well.
