Members of the Parliament of Georgia congratulated female prisoners on March 8
A ceremonial event dedicated to the International Women's Day was held in N5 (women`s) penitentiary facility.
The following persons visited the facility: Akaki Saghirashvili, Deputy Minister of Justice of Georgia, Nika Tskhvarashvili, Deputy Director General of the Special Penitentiary Service, Mikheil Sarjveladze, Chairman of the Committee on Human Rights and Civil Integration, Tea Tsulukiani, Chairperson of the Committee on Education, Science and Culture and Elisso Bolkvadze, a member of the same committees, also Nino Chipashvili, Head of the Convicts' Vocational Training and Retraining Center visited.
The guests congratulated female prisoners on March 8. Elisso Bolkvadze performed several piano pieces for the participants of the event. In turn, the female prisoners performed drama shows specially prepared for the day, thanked the guests for visiting the facility and congratulating them on March 8 and expressed hope that similar events will be held more often also in the future.
